Last week we told you about the beautiful Brazilian model who put her virginity up for auction. Now, the director of the documentary that facilitated the auction may be charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
Catarina Migliorini, 20, looks to earn R6,7 million from the controversial sale after the online auction closed last Wednesday. The student was taking part in a documentary by Australian film-maker Justin Sisely entitled Virgins Wanted.
The ‘winner’ of Migliorini’s virginity is a Japanese man only know as Natsu. The pair will apparently consumate the act on a plane flying between Australia and the US to get around prostitution laws.
On Sunday, however, Brazil’s attorney general, Joao Pedro de Saboia Bandeira de Mello, ordered an “urgent” investigation into the virgin auction, arguing that it amounted to “people trafficking”.
He wants Sisley to be arrested by international law enforcers to stop him “executing the crime”. De Mello said:
In principal this looks to me like the crime of people trafficking, whose repression is provided for in international treaties.
He has also asked authorities in Australia – where Migliorini resides – to revoke her visa for “the exercise of prostitution”, and make sure she is deported back to Brazil.
