There’s no denying that a Lamborghini is a highly desirable motor car – especially the über-sexy 2012 Aventador. Some people will do anything to get one, even at the high price of R3,75 million. Spending all that cash may leave you a little broke, so much so that you can’t pay your tickets.
This is the fate that a Canadian man suffered, when he was pulled over by police for not displaying a number plate on the front of his vehicle. When questioned by the traffic officer, who asked him the typical question of, “license and registration, please,” it was further discovered that the poor guy didn’t have insurance either.
Not having insurance is an offence in Canada, which meant that the owner of the Lambo is liable for a $500 fine. When he couldn’t pay this, it meant that off to the impound his precious new speedster went. 690 horses don’t mean much on the back of a tow-truck.
Tough times are upon us all.
Speaking of behalf of Canadian Traffic Services, colonel MacDonald said the following:
[The officer] issued a violation ticket for no insurance and was going to tow the vehicle. And when the owner got the ticket his reply was that it was too expensive.
It is just funny that you can afford the Lamborghini but you can’t afford the insurance? You can’t afford the ticket?
