If you haven’t caught the fact that Red Bull has released a facemelting range of Special Edition flavours (cranberry, lime, and blueberry), then welcome to October. Consider yourself up to speed.
What you need to know, however, is that you can, in the space of one small tweet, help bring fame and glory to your city, and win incredible prizes.
Nothing builds excitement like a little inter-city rivalry, and Red Bull have assigned a South African city to each of their Special Edition flavours. Those are #RedEdition for Joburg, #SilverEdition for Durban and #BlueEdition for Cape Town. You’ll notice that those labels happen to be Twitter hashtags.
So listen closely. November 5 is Guy Fawkes day. And this year, Red Bull is going BIG, lighting up our cities with a mind blowing display.
The city with the most tweets come November 5 will be lit up first! And you want your city to come first, right? They’re tracking the progress of the three cities, HERE.
But there’s another reason you want your city to win, besides city pride.
BUT WAIT! There’s more!
If you tweeted to light up your city first, AND your city was in fact the first to be lit up, you’ll be entered into the final, draw to win one of three Red Bull Experiences:
1. Trip for you and a friend to Sonar Festival in Spain
2. Trip for you and a friend to experience Red Bull Crashed Ice in Eurpoe
3. Trip for you and a friend to watch Red Bull Art of Motion in Greece
Locations will be announced later, but you can see the visuals on the site for clues on the best spot to go watch it live. And sweat it if you cant be there in real life, we will webstream it for you on the site as well!
IMPORTANT EXTRA!
If you fill in your deets on the Light Up Your City site, and tell us where you’re planning to watch your city light up, Red Bull could deliver some free stock to your door to give you wings for the night!
NOT shabby, kids.
