Everyone’s favourite longtime Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, has released a couple of photos of himself to the media. This is in response to recent rumours that a stroke put him in “a neurovegetative state.”
The photos, seen below, were taken by his son, Alex, and show the 86-year-old standing outside near some trees wearing a checked shirt and cowboy hat. He also appears to be reading last Friday’s copy of the Communist Party newspaper, Granma.
In the article accompanying the images, Castro criticised those responsible for the speculation about his health. According to him, he is in excellent health and doesn’t even “remember what a headache feels like”.
