We’ve previously seen loads of pictures of the cool offices Google employees get to work in. But for the first time, Google has lifted the mystery surrounding their data centres.
Where The Internet Lives is a new site launched by the Internet company, and it aims to show how Google operates behind the scenes. Users can now literally see inside their data centres! You are also able to access information about the technology in these facilities, and how the company protects your personal data.
This latest demonstration of transparency goes far beyond their previous efforts. There are photos, interviews, a video tour and even a Google street view feature – allowing users to explore the Google’s Lenoir, North Carolina data centre.
