Yahoo has convinced a second high-ranking Google employee to come and work for them. After being one of Google’s top sales execs, Henrique De Castro served more recently as Google’s president of partners business solutions. He will now be serving as Yahoo’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Earlier this year Yahoo also nabbed Michael Barrett from Google to be its chief of revenue.
De Castro negotiated himself a handsome renumeration package as well. This includes a R5,2m-per-year base salary, an annual bonus of almost double that, and R315m worth of Yahoo stock grants.
In her statement accompanying the news, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer describes Henrique as an incredibly accomplished and rigorous business leader.
I’m personally excited to have [Henrique] join Yahoo!’s strong leadership team. His operational experience in Internet advertising and his proven success in structuring and scaling global organizations make him the perfect fit for Yahoo! as we propel the business to its next phase of growth.
