Google has become famous for its fun, interactive Doodles, each new iteration drawing in a few more newcomers. Today’s Doodle is no different and also happens to be the online giant’s biggest, most expansive effort yet.
Today’s Doodle commemorates Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo, a comic strip that debuted exactly 107 years ago in the New York Herald and the New York American. As soon as you open up Google the animation starts with Little Nemo’s bed tilting up and rolling him out of his bed, from there it’s up to you if you want to see the animation progress. I’d vote for yes though. Every time you click the tab on the bottom right corner another level unfurls, and another, and another, each one as beautifully animated as the next.

The comic strip ran from 1905 to 1914 and although it wasn’t a raging success in its own time, it went on to inspire and influence numerous artists including Alan Moore and Maurice Sendak.
