Obama Offers Himself Up As “Eye Candy” During TV Interview

During an interview on one of America's biggest talk shows, The View, Barack Obama did an awesome job of securing female voters for the upcoming US elections. He was accompanied by his wife, Michelle. The episode will air today, and sees him flirt with his other half, bestowing gifts upon the hosts, and quipping: “I've been told I'm just eye candy here.”

Yesterday, during a taping of The View, Barack Obama did an awesome job of securing female voters for the upcoming US elections. He was accompanied by his wife, Michelle. The interviewers included veteran journalist Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg.

The episode will air in America today, and sees him flirt with his other half, bestowing gifts upon the hosts, and quipping: “I’ve been told I’m just eye candy here.” He was responding to Barbara Walters jokingly saying to Michelle Obama that she brought the president as her “date”.

The Obamas also chatted about their upcoming anniversary and presented the hosts with White House cloth napkins, golf balls, candy and bottles of Obama’s home-brewed beer. The couple’s 20th anniversary will fall on the day of the first presidential debate – 3 October.

When he said this, Michelle responded with a dead-pan face: “Our first wedding anniversary, I totally forgot.” Obama quickly fired back with a simple: “Cold.”

During the taping, another host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck (also a vocal Republican supporter), asked if the Obama administration had failed the middle class. Here is his answer:

Everything that we’ve done has been designed to deal with not only the immediate crisis, but make sure that the middle class, which had been struggling for a decade before that, is feeling more secure. The problems that were created aren’t going to be solved overnight.
