There’s a lot of protesting and unrest in the Muslim parts of the world right now, mostly because of a movie called “The Innocence of Muslims.” At a recent 10 000-strong protest against the film, held in Lahore, the capital of the Punjab province in Pakistan – things took a deadly turn for one of the protestors.
Abdullah Ismail, one of the movie’s opponents, wasn’t feeling too good after a long day of protesting. Chanting and burning flags is hard work, after all. Deciding that it would be better to get his sickness checked out, he made his way to a local hospital. He later passed away from complications due to inhaling the smoke of burning US flags, reports the International Herald Tribune.
My guess it that the flags were made of polyester or some other synthetic fabric, and that’s something that can’t be too good for you.
The protests to the film “The Innocence of Muslims,” made by an American, have spread all across the Middle East managing to almost universally anger members of the Islamic faith. The trailer to the film mocks Islam and depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud, a womaniser, and a pedophile.
2oceansVibe first covered the film here, and recent suicide bomb attacks which included the death of eight South Africans, have also been linked to the film.
