Yesterday we reported on Julius Malema visiting more striking miners, and telling them how the president does not see them as a priority. At the same time, Jacob Zuma was asked in parliament to explain government’s action plan to return stability to areas that have been dogged by violence and protracted strikes.
In a veiled warning to Malema, Zuma responded by saying that his government will “act soon” against “some people of some description” who visit these mines in order to instigate continual strikes and more violence.
You know that it is not just the miners striking. It is also some people of some description who are going there to instigate miners to operate in a particular way. It cannot be accepted and therefore we are looking into that. We are going to be acting very soon.
The president also denied that Julius Malema was “his Frankenstein”, after the IFP accused him of creating a monster to fight his battles in 2009, when he set his sights on the ANC presidency.
I have never produced any person as it is claimed for Polokwane, not at all. So I shouldn’t be blamed for somebody who has some characteristic of his own. It’s not my fault. I never participated in the production of some person.
