Hustler publisher, and all round bad-ass Larry Flynt posted a full page advert in the Washington Post and USA Today over the weekend offering a bunch of cash for any information about Mitt Romney’s tax affairs. Not exactly classy, but exactly awesome.
In case anyone does have dirt on the Republican Presidential candidate, a telephone hotline has been set up for tips, and the money will be paid if a verified story is published. I hope that the telephone is red, and the cash is paid out in a suitcase. I can’t imagine Mr. Flynt doing it any other way.
Mr Romney, who is worth an estimated $250 million, has released two years of tax returns and has defied rising pressure from Democrats to unveil more. His reason for not relaseing anything else is that the Democrats will never be sated in their desire for information regarding his financial background. No Mitt, I doubt they will.
This is not a first for Flynt who has made several previous $1 million offers for information about political events, including for details about the assassination of President John F Kennedy. He survived an assassination attempt himself in 1978 and has been a staunch defender of free speech for almost 40 years. Good work Mr. Flynt, good work.
