The bodies of two women in the Russian Republic of Kazan, were found yesterday evening in an apparent statement on the imprisonment of punk band Pussy Riot. They were found in their apartment with multiple stab wounds, and the words “Free! Pussy Riot” [sic] painted on the wall in what police believe were the victims’ blood.
Police are baffled by the gruesome scene, which they believe originated from a robbery. The victims, an elderly lady and her 38-year-old daughter, lived together in the capital city of Tatarstan. According to police sources, the bodies “have been mutilated beyond recognition.” A spokesperson for Russian police has also told local Russian media:
They’ve been killed very cruelly: the murderer stabbed each of them at least eight to ten times. This has astounded our experts. We never saw anything like this before, it’s right out of a horror movie.
This was painted on the kitchen wall:
Police believe that the blood used to paint the slogan is that of the victims, but the composition of the substance has not yet been confirmed. The two women are believed to have been murdered between 24 and 26 August, almost a week ago. An investigation has been launched into the murder and although a connection to supporters of the punk band is being considered, it is seen as highly unlikely.
Three members of Pussy Riot were sentenced to two years in prison on the 17th of August, after being found guilty of public hooliganism.
