The iTunes store will be available in South Africa next month, according to an announcement just made at the Mobile Entertainment Africa 2012 conference taking place in Cape Town at the moment. We do not know yet how far behind the likes of the US iTunes Account this new local iTunes will be (eg. movies and TV shows and music).
During his presentation, Yoel Kenan, CEO of Africori, a synch licensing platform for African music, connecting artists with TV and film production companies, video games developers, advertising and more, made the announcement.
Editor of Stuff magazine, Toby Shapshak, tweeted the announcement a little while ago:
There is plenty of other interesting information emerging from under the Twitter hashtag of #MEA2012, such as this snippet from Ben Wagner:
And this from Andrew Herd:
Jump onto Twitter and have a look at the hashtag for more.
Obviously this doesn’t mean the content will be as up to date as the US iTunes store, and that is why we urge anyone who wants to keep fully up to speed with music, movies and TV shows, to get themselves a US iTunes account. CLICK HERE FOR US ITUNES ACCOUNT.
