Jozi – get a load of the rad new PUMA store that’s about to take you by storm!
PUMA South Africa will be opening a brand new store in the trendy suburb of Braamfontein in Jozi on 25 August. Fully kitted with the new Retail 2.0 store design, this street-located store is set to add to the buzz that this area is already creating, gang!
PUMA South Africa’s Marketing Director Brett Bellinger is as excited about the new store as we are:
PUMA is very excited to open our first PUMA Store in the Johannesburg area. We have carefully selected Braamfontein for this venture as we believe the mix of students and hipsters perfectly fits the offering that we have at the PUMA Store.
PUMA International’s new Retail 2.0 store design launched in early 2011 in Berlin, with the new system now being rolled out in all major global markets, including the PUMA Canal Walk store which was the first store in Africa to undergo this latest facelift.
The new PUMA Store in Braamfontein will also be equipped with the new store design, but it’s also going to have additional store elements such as a PUMA Social area and DJ mixing station, a peep show to surprise shoppers in the change-rooms, and an unSMARTphone.
I must say.. I’m looking forward to surprising SilverStreak when he’s trying something on in that change-room.
Not only will the store be trendy, but Jozi’s rich mining history will also be incorporated into the store design, and hence there will be references to mining, including a dominant Brand Wall made up of mining helmets and footwear housing elements made to look like mining elevators.
You can also expect gold-sprayed iconic PUMA cat statues to guard the store entrance.
Bellinger continued:
We know that the consumers that the Braamfontein area attracts love the PUMA Brand. SouthPoint and Adam Levy of Play Braamfontein have curated a mix of consumers and tenants in the area which happens to suit the PUMA Brand perfectly. In short, we like them and they like us! Our aim with this PUMA Store is to provide more streetwear-oriented product with limited releases and must-haves forming an important part of the offering in the store. We look forward to welcoming all the friends of PUMA through our Braamfontein doors.
The new store is located on the corner of De Korte and Melle Streets, and will be open on a Monday to Saturday from 09h00 to 17h00, and on a Sunday from 09h00 and 13h00.
