Dmitry Rogozin (left) took Madge to task this week, calling her a “moralising slut.”
Poor Madonna. In her ever increasing bid to stay relevant, she seems to be trying every possible trick in the book to shock and keep people talking. From pointing guns at herself on stage, thinly-disguised drug references and costumes that should really not be worn by a 53-year old, she’s now angered the Russians.
After demanding the release of the Russian punk band, Pussy Riot, who are facing possible jail time for their anti-Putin protests, she’s not exactly the Kremlin’s favourite person. But her latest commentary has her questioning the Russian lawmakers, who have passed a law banning the “promotion of homosexuality to young people,” which the Russian government compares to paedophilia. She has been told that she may face prosecution if her St Petersburg concert is seen to be promoting any sort of “homosexual propaganda.”
Russian deputy prime minister, Dmitry Rogozin, speaking about her actions, said the following on Twitter:
With age, every former slut tries to lecture everyone on morality. Either take off your cross, or put on your knickers.
In the Moscow stage of her world tour, the singer painted the words “Pussy Riot” on her back, and sang “Like a Virgin” whilst wearing the punk group’s signature balaclava.
