The World Wide Web, AKA The Most Important Invention In The Known Human History, turns 21 today.
Like all beloved 21 year olds, a lot of people are making a big deal of this particular birthday.
moneysmart, who share their birthday with the WWW, and without which they could not exist, have put together one of the most notable tributes to the Web, and it’s father, Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
moneysmart encouraged South Africans to post a birthday tribute to the Web and Sir Tim on Facebook, or via Twitter using the hashtag, #web21. The best messages were handpicked, and used as part of a personalised video birthday card. The card has literally just bee sent to Sir Tim at via Twitter, with love from SA and moneysmart. Sir Tim abides in the USA, so he’s six hours behind South Africa, thus he’ll receive his gift as he has his breakfast.
