Bottle throwing neanderthal.
If you are going to be a big douche at the Olympics, don’t do it with Edith Bosch, Netherland’s world judo champion, standing next to you. Bosch put her skills to use at the 100m final on Sunday night, by hitting a moronic spectator who threw a bottle onto the track just before the race.
Bosch tweeted after the race:
A drunken spectator threw a bottle onto the track! I HAVE BEATEN HIM… unbelievable.
Which is all sorts of awesome. The 32-year-old judoku – who won bronze at this Olympics – was standing close to a man who she called “a peculiar bloke” when he threw a green bottle onto the track behind the start line. Bosch told a Dutch TV:
Then he threw that bottle and in my emotion I hit him on the back with the flat of my hand.
This was Bosch’s look when she saw the bottle being thrown.
A police spokesman said a man had been heard shouting abuse and was then seen throwing the bottle immediately before the race. A man remained in custody at an east London police station today on suspicion of causing a public nuisance.
Happily the sprinters were not affected. Jamaican Yohan Blake said: “I was so focused I didn’t see anything. I was so focused on just running to the line.” Usain Bolt said he hadn’t heard a thing, saying “No, I keep hearing that. I don’t know who would have done that.”
