This August The Westcliff is celebrating the exceptional wines and winemakers of South Africa with a series of Evenings of Fine Wine. They will take place every Friday evening in La Belle restaurant at 18h30.
The Westcliff has invited some very well-established estates, as well as some newer, more cutting-edge domains, to host their guests on an intimate wine and food tasting journey. The line-up is: 3rd August Avondale; 10th August Remhoogte; 17th August Grand Provence; 24th August Creation and 31st August Moreson.
The wine tasting will be complemented by a fabulous four-course dinner created by Chef Klaus Beckmann. Chef Klaus has been liaising closely with each winemaker to ensure that the menu is in perfect harmony with the wines. He modestly claims: “When it comes to wine, I know I have to yield. I have to be a gentleman and give the wine priority and adapt my flavours so as not to overwhelm the delicate nuances of the wine… you know how it goes in partnerships!”
The Evenings of Fine Wine start at 18h30 for 19h00 with a welcome drink and a chance to chat to the winemaker before sitting down for a sensory feast in the elegantly stylish La Belle restaurant. The evening is priced at R380 per person, which includes the wine tasting and a four-course menu with complementary wines served with each course.
If you would really like to treat yourself, The Westcliff is offering an Evenings of Fine Wine overnight special – R1 500 per room including breakfast, for two people sharing.
