What do you get when you combine motion capture, Microsoft Kinect cameras, a choreographed performance and Ableton Live? A pretty unique music experience, where the music is created by the actual movement of the performer on stage.
This is exactly what the V Motion project culminated in, after months of researching and building their own custom rig to make it happen. Interpreting the movements of the DJ on stage through a series of cameras, and crunching the data through custom software, different loops and triggers could be activated through Ableton Live performance software. This allows the DJ to perform live in front of the crowd, without touching a single button.
