ANC Accuses DA Of Underspending In Cape Town

The provincial council of the ANC in the Western Cape are again pointing fingers at the DA, this time for not making use of its full capital budget. This is the same issue raised last year by the ANC, when the Western Cape only spent 75% of its budget.

The provincial council of the ANC in the Western Cape are again pointing fingers at the DA, this time for not making use of its full capital budget. This is the same issue raised last year by the ANC, when the Western Cape only spent 75% of its budget.

Patricia de Lille was yesterday called on to fire her deputy, under the offence of misleading the public for informing voters that around 92% of the budget was spent. The ANC claims that based on their scrutiny, the figures are actually closer to 73%.

ANC Chief Whip Xolani Sotashe has called for “heads to roll,” stating:

We are taking this issue very seriously this time around … heads must roll … there needs to be direct intervention from central government. We have forwarded all this information to the president.
