A short while ago it was confirmed that Christopher Billings, the alleged mastermind of a 2006 R100 million heist at OR Tambo Airport, was arrested in his pink t-shirt, with his bags packed, and on his way to Swaziland.

The media were earlier asked to show Billings’ face after his mum said he’d been stuck in a roadblock on his way to court, which we did:

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Willemien Vos tweeted the following confirming the suspect, who decided to do a runner from court this morning, had been arrested:

This should hopefully bring one of the most interesting cases in South African criminal history to some kind of a close.
