There is nothing worse than being tagged in a Facebook photo that you don’t want to be tagged in. You know, that time at the bar, after tequila number 7, hanging off your mate Jeff? Turns out it wasn’t just a mass upload.
A new survey of female Facebook users has shown that 25% will deliberately post a shitty photo of you to Facebook. The reasons for this vary. The survey revealed that it can be for reasons of anger, revenge, or to make the user look better.
Some examples include candid beach shots in unflattering bikinis and pictures of friends without makeup. While it is possible for someone to untag themselves, it is not possible to delete the photo. Facebook has refused to get involved in the disputes, stating that photos can only be removed by the uploader, unless there is a breach of the website’s picture policy.
The study also revealed interesting patterns of use – more women use social media sites than men, who tend to rather spend time on gaming and entertainment sites.
