Google had it’s big developer conference recently, and with the rise of the technology giant, it’s exciting to see what’s coming in the future. The two most exciting technologies on display were most certainly Google Glass, a pair of wearable internet glasses. Google has also launched its own tablet, the Nexus 7, which may just give the iPad a run for its money.
The Nexus 7 is manufactured by Asus, and features a seven inch HD screen, front facing camera and weighs a mere 340 grams. The real game changer though is that it comes in at a mere $199 in price, which puts it in line with the Kindle Fire. Obviously, it runs Android, but this could be the device that nicks a large chunk of Apple’s market share.
Google Glass has me giggling like a kid in a candy store. Essentially, the technology is augmented reality – by wearing the glasses, you can see additional information about that around you, which is displayed in front of your eyes. They also feature a camera, so that the world can see what you’re doing. So, directions while your walking somewhere, or a WhatsApp message can be displayed right in front of you, bypassing a tablet, phone or computer.
Pretty cool, no? The only glitch is the price – at $1 500 that’s a little steep.
