Roses are red, violets are blue, but no matter the colour, Moses needs Lobola! That was the story that Moses Nefale shared with Sanlam as part of his entry to the Sanlam National Start Something Day competition.
In a world of uncertainty and unrest, Moses looked back to his roots and decided that it was important for him as a man to show his commitment to his bride-to-be through respecting the traditions of Lobola.
Now winning a load of cash from Sanlam would have made things a little too easy for this guy – he needs to work for his bride, but Sanlam saw an opportunity to step in and help Moses figure out the smartest way to save the cash he needs to put a ring on it.
With a R5 000 boost, Moses was advised to start putting a little stash aside each month into a unit trust from Sanlam. This way the money he saves will grow. Then in about three to five years, once he’s found the lady of his dreams, he can cash out the unit trusts and go have a chat with his father-in-law.
