Matt Harding is back, people – the man we all love to hate for having the cojones to live the life we all wish we could. Better known simply as ‘Matt’ or ‘Dancing Matt’, he recently completely his latest “Where The Hell Is Matt” video, and it’s every bit as awesome as its prequels. Click through for the video.
It all started a few years ago, in fact almost a decade, when Matt left his job as a games designer to pursue his true passion – filming himself doing in his trademark dance in different locations across the world. In 2005 he released his first video which garnered almost three million views, then in 2006 he graced the interwebs with another video which received over 17.5 million views, impressive, no? By the time he released his third video, he had already built up quite a following and manged to reel in over 40 million views. Through his video series, he travels to ever more exotic locations and in his latest offering he dances in Syria, North Korea, Rwanda, Afghanistan and even our very own South Africa, to mention but a few.
Harding received no funding or sponsorship for his latest video and is therefore making the video available for a very reasonable fee of $1, to his expenses. He also made it abundantly clear on the the purchase page that funds would not be going to a charity to another other organisation, in case someone thought they were.
Let me be clear: this purchase is not a donation and NO portion of each sale will go to charity. If you’d like to support a cause related to this video, visit the Give page and you’ll see a bunch of great organizations that offered their time and resources to help me make my video. I encourage you to return that favor for me directly, but the money you pay for this download goes straight into my pocket and I’ll probably spend it on comic books or video games or something dumb like that. I made the 2012 video without a sponsor using my own savings, so this is one way I’m hoping to recoup that investment.
Let’s be frank, $1 is really not a lot to ask. Plus, the video has no Digital Rights Management (DRM), which means once you’ve paid for it you’re free to share with as many people as you want too. What a lovely notion.
Enough banter, sit back and enjoy.
