A few days ago Microsoft unveiled what many are calling its “iPad killer”, the brand new Surface tablet. Unfortunately for them however, things went horribly, horribly wrong at a live product demonstration. Click through for a laugh at their expense.
You can’t help but feel for this guy. It’s the first time in ages that Microsoft has made anything worth getting excited about and on its big day it let’s them down, in a big way.
“Surface is of course great for entertainment…” no sooner had the man spoken the words than had the epic fail begun. While trying to demonstrate how one can “browse smoothly” on the new tablet, the device completely freezes, not allowing him to demonstrate anything. Convinced it’s but a momentary lapse he trudges on, believing the problem will sort it self out, it doesn’t. Trying to change the topic, he moves onto gaming and visibly tries to launch an application, which has no effect. Finally he settles for turning the screen towards himself in an attempt to hide the device’s failures from the sea of press on the scene. Eventually, after failing for almost a full minute and realising that he can’t continue without a working device, he admits defeat and runs to a nearby table to swap out the faulty device for a working one.
Let’s hope, for Microsoft’s sake, that it was just first day jitters and not a crippling flaw that could send the Surface in a spiralling death roll.
