In a display of cruelty and abuse, captors tattooed a refugee’s forehead after he tried to flee Syria for Lebanon. He is only one of thousands of Syrians fleeing their homeland in fear of prosecution. Click through for the disturbing video, slightly N5FW.
Syria is currently caught up in a brutal civil war which is driving many citizens to seek refuge in neighbouring countries. The video shows one such refugee being abused and having the words “Oh father of Abdullah, Hussein”, forcibly tattooed on his face. The “Hussein” mentioned is in reference to the revered imam of Shia Islam. The uploader, Mohamaed1981, claims the tattoo artist is a Hezbollah supporter. While tattooing, he is constantly speaking, and intermittently slapping, the unidentified man. Below is a translation of what was said.
This is the father of Abdullah. This is Hussein, this is Hussein. If he [Allah] loves you, he will take you to heaven. I’m trying to make a Muslim out of you. Not with the regime or against the regime.
For those who sent you, [send them this message] tell them, “look what they’ve done to me?”
Say this to them: this is a message to those who hate Shia.
They sent me to you alive saying, Father of Abdullah (Hussein) if you try to come close to us Shia, we will f*ck your mothers…
I will even put a conjugation (the hamzeh) on it for you.
Say ‘hi’ to [Salafist Lebanese Sheikh Ahmed] al-Assir.
Other sources claim the incident took place in the midst of a mass exodus, which they estimate has seen as many as 37 000 Syrians fleeing for Lebanon. Furthermore, on 22 May, a group of Lebanese Shia Muslim pilgrims were captured in Aleppo by a Syrian Rebel group.
[They] demanded an apology last week from Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah (over his support for Assad) in return for their release.
It has been speculated that the video above may be related to the incident, however it could not be confirmed.
