Are you a massive Elvis fan? Do you own all of The King’s records? Looking for a special piece of memorabilia and deeply concerned about where you’ll be laid to rest when you leave the earth one day? I may have just the thing for you.

The entrance to Elvis Presley’s private crypt, where The King and his mom were laid to rest, is about to go up for auction. With a starting price of only $100 000, you too can be laid down in the exact same place as Elvis. The highest bidder will also receive a complementary opening and closing of the vault and crypt for burial, a memorial inscription and the use of the chapel for a committal service – bargain!

Note, however, that you won’t actually be able to crawl up next to Elvis and whisper sweet nothings in his ear, as two months after his tombing (tombification? – entombment, ed) his body and that of his mother moved to the more traditional ground burial.

Speaking on behalf of the auction house, which will also be selling off a robe worn by Amy Winehouse, the auctioneer said:

I just consider that if you’re an ultimate fan of Elvis Presley, it’s an opportunity.It’s definitely a conversation piece. Only one person can say, ‘Hey, I’m going to be buried where Elvis Presley was.’

Cool, or creepy? I’m leaning towards the latter.
