2oceansviber, Vincent Raffray, made it back from this year’s AfrikaBurn in one piece. And he brought gifts! But more about those a little later. First, let’s hear what he has to say about his experience:
AfrikaBurn situated near Tankwa Town in the Karoo is a feast for the soul and the eyes and a festival not to be missed. Once a year, creatives gather a temporary city of art to express themselves through music, performances and art, then they burn it all down and dance around the flames. Modeled on the Burning Man Festival in the States, the event is based on giving and no commerce so there is no water supply and no food to buy. For a photographer, it’s a never ending stream of visual porn and I actually had to force myself to put the camera away so I could take part in this amazing event.
Check out those gifts I mentioned earlier, below. This is the first of a few albums, the second is here, and for all the pics, check out Vincent’s Facebook Page.
