Are you a really good illustrator? Does your mind overflow with creativity? Not afraid to have your work judged by literally millions of people? Your dream job is waiting at Google, click through for details.
That’s where it all started, the first Google doodle. Drawn in 1998, it paid homage to the famous Burning Man festival in the US. Since then the trend has taken off and we’re treated to ever more frequent doodles, commemorating everything from famous birthdays to historical events. And now the digital giant is looking for new members to join its team.
What they’re looking for is a doodler, or for the purists among us, a “Product Graphic Designer/Illustrator”. The job would entail tracking down doodle-worthy events and then doodling about them. It’s not all fun and games though.
First impressions matter. Every day, hundreds of millions of online users visit the Google homepage. Yes, to search. But also, to be delighted, informed, and surprised (And maybe even to laugh a little). The Google Doodle makes this possible – it’s the change that is constant on Google.com.
Although there will be plenty of fun and games.
[A]s a “Doodler,” you have the world’s best platform to showcase your stylistic skills — as well as your sense of humor, love of all things historical and imaginative artistry. From Jules Verne to Pac-Man, you have the reins to our brand and iconic logo and can run free with your innovative ideas. Go forth and doodle!
Sound like your kind of gig? Google’s hiring process is notoriously thorough and you’ll have to do more than just show up to prove yourself. In addition to having a graphic design qualification or at least four years experience in the industry you’ll also have to undergo their full hiring process.
Virtually every person who interviews at Google talks to at least four interviewers, drawn from both management and potential colleagues
You’d also have to relocate to Mountain View, California, but you’d be working Google.
So, if you think you got what it takes to go toe-to-toe with some of the world’s best, and outdo them, click here to apply.
Good luck, and don’t forget where you saw the link first.
