It’s that time of the year again – the Easter silly season, when people risk their lives driving like lunatics on our national roads. To counter the madness, the Western Cape government has announced it will be setting up roadblocks where you and I least expect them, as part of a grand plan which aims to see zero road deaths in the province over the Easter period.
According to Transport MEC Robin Carlisle, the provincial traffic department is hard at work putting in place processes not only to ensure the swift and effective reaction to incidents, but also to take preventive measures to avoid road accidents.
It’s also worth noting that alcohol roadblocks will be set up across the Western Cape over the next two days, and will continue throughout the long weekend.
Be careful on the roads, and be safe this Easter guys and girls.
