Dominique Strauss-Kahn, recently charged for involvement in a prostitution ring, is also being accused of raping a hotel housekeeper – and since he seems to be losing that whole prostitution thing, he’s had his lawyers try to dismiss the case because his former position as head of the International Monetary Fund gives him “absolute immunity.”

Which makes total sense, right? Having once been in control of huge amounts of other people’s money totally means you can do pretty much whatever without fear of repercussions.

Which is what his lawyers seem to be arguing – that DSK’s

status as the head of an international organization with a special relationship with the United Nations protected him from lawsuits, even those based upon “acts done in the executive’s personal capacity.

The best part about this is that the justice ruling on the civil case seems to be taking the claims seriously – and will be ruling on Strauss-Kahn’s “absolute immunity” in a couple of days.
