Syria has been in uprising since last year, with protesters demanding the resignation of Bashar al-Assad and the overthrow of his government. But this monster has access to loads of weapons and security forces. And if recent footage released by CNN is anything to go by, he will wipe out everyone who opposes him in cold blood – including women and children.

A lot of the atrocities are taking place in the town of Homs, and the below video should put things into perspective in case you’ve missed any of it. It was made by a French journalist, stationed in the area.

The latest footage obtained by CNN is among the most disturbing yet – about a dozen family members killed in one house in what appears to be sectarian brutality. The killings were a sectarian massacre carried out by thugs allied to al-Assad’s regime.

The video is said to have been shot in the neighborhood of Sabeel last month. It was made by a group of civilians who went there to rescue the bodies of these people after they’d been dead already for several days.

The story ends on a positive note when a young boy is discovered, alive. According to the report, he must have spent a couple of days with his dead family members – too scared to come out of his hiding place.
