A report this morning indicated that a “large contingent” of the Johannesburg Auction Alliance sales staff were set to resign. They were reported to be “in talks” with Aucor yesterday about them looking for new jobs. Much more seems to have happened today, though.
A short while ago, an Auction Alliance employee sent us the following message:
Auction Alliance is pretty much done. Durban office closed down. Over 90% of the brokers resigned in JHB, and the CT office just got told to start sending out their CV’s.
That’s pretty hectique.
This might be the final time the hammer comes down for Auction Alliance.
The company has for the past few months been struggling financially amid the allegations that its CEO and founder, Rael Levitt, had been paying staff at various banks large sums of money to ensure the company received preferential treatment.
We’ll update you when we know more.
