There is quite literally nothing more relaxing than lying poolside at the Mount Nelson hotel. Largely protected from the wind – and with a heated pool to boot – the quiet, tranquil atmosphere is also void of anyone you know. A rarity in Cape town. You see, the pool area at the Mount Nelson is strictly for guests, but there is one way of getting yourself onto one of those highly sought-after lounging chairs (with thick pink towels tucked around the cushion – bliss).
Gather round…
Now listen to this incredibly useful lesson in life : You see that palm tree at the end of the main photo above? The big bushy one? On the other side of that is the Librisa Spa, as you see above. Part of the offering at the Librisa Spa at the Mount Nelson, is access to the pool, after your treatment. Seriously – it’s true.
And, what’s more, locals get 25% off at Librisa Spa.
I’m serious.
Get in touch and book yourself a massage on a Saturday or Sunday morning and then enjoy spending a few hours lounging at the pool. You’ll feel like you’re on holiday in Europe somewhere. The Muse and I do it nearly every weekend. The chicken mayo toasted sandwiches come highly recommended. And chef Rudi doesn’t mind if you tweak your order. Personally, I tend to go for some chopped-up jalapenos – added to the standard chicken mayo.
Mmmm.
