What went down in KZN this weekend.
You may have heard about the massive storm that hit KZN over the weekend, disrupting pretty much everything. Over 250mm of rain fell on the KZN coast this weekend – causing the Palmiet River to overflow its banks. Residents of Quarry Heights also faced evacuations. Guess what? She’s coming back.
The South African Weather Service is currently reporting that the storm is chilling out about 400km off the coast of Durban, but is likely to make a U-turn and head back to the coast sometime in the middle of the week. It is now classified as a “moderate tropical storm” but would re-intensify as “severe tropical storm” as it heads back.
Best to not put your raincoats away just yet.
