This man spends his day watching Youtube videos for money. Jealous.
You can do a lot worse on the internet these days than watching the odd TED talk. The TED conference gathers dozens of the world’s best and most dynamic thinkers and doers and lets them do what they do best: apply their insights to the many questions of our complicated world.
Everyday they upload a new video of one or other of their speakers to Youtube, and most of the time, these are breathtaking little nuggets of interesting to spend a couple of minutes with.
I thought this recent one was pretty worth 7 minutes of my time. They got Kevin Allocca, who is the Trends Manager at Youtube to talk at a TED Youth event about what makes a video go viral, and what videos tend to do that. Given that every week seems to bring a new “must see” meme or video moment, his insights are pretty interesting. Check it out after the jump:
