Dominique Strauss-Kahn, that former head of the IMF who totally didn’t rape anybody, is being questioned by French police as a suspect in a prostitution ring inquiry, a prosecutor says. The man who was probably going to be the next president of France could be held for up to 48 hours.
Think of all the sexy parties he’ll miss.
A number of prostitutes have admitted to having sex with Strauss-Kahn – which isn’t exactly illegal, as consorting with prostitutes and/or former IMF heads is totally okay in France, but supplying prostitutes to others is somewhat less so.
Nonetheless, Strauss-Kahn denies knowing that the women were prostitutes, because abject denial seemed to work pretty well for him last time.
Especially neat was his lawyer’s defence on the point:
I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman.
The BBC says Strauss-Kahn took part in sex parties in Paris and Washington in late 2010 and early 2011, potentially misusing corporate funds to do so. Naughty.
We’ll let you know if anything else develops.
