Learners at this rural school in Vosloorus use sponsored iPads
Now that’s more like it! Late last month we reported how several posh Gauteng private schools were planning to make iPads mandatory learning aids in their classes.
The obvious question arose that, while that is just lovely for the little ladies of Kingsmead Girls College, what about the hundreds of thousands of less fortunate South African school goers who will likely never see such benefits in their classrooms?
Well, check out this awesome video/photo essay of young learners at Ndlelenhle Primary School in Vosloorus, using iPads that have been sponsored as part of several corporations’ social outreach initiatives.
It seems our prediction that iPad learning was probably going to be a privilege of the 1% for the foreseeable future may not have been as accurate as we thought, and we’re happy to see these kids’ education be bumped up with 21st Century technology so rapidly.
Beware that this video is a little more promotional than strict reportage, but the message is clear just the same.
