Previously on Pimp Impound My Ride
You might think you’ve seen some nasty old relics cruising the nation’s roads, but you haven’t seen anything quite like this! Kimberley traffic officials impounded this beauty earlier in the week, after it was caught waddling along a local road, swaying from side to side. Here we have what used to be a 1976 Toyota Hilux bakkie. Except, its owners have made some… er, modifications over the years.
- The petrol tank has been replaced by a five liter plastic juice bottle.
- The suspension frame is being held together by garden wire and rusted chains.
- It only has two working gears.
- The same wire is holding the shock absorbers in place.
- It has no handbrake, among other vital missing parts.
- It has no working lights, nor wipers, and as you can see in the pictures, that seat has seen better years, nevermind better days.
The owner bought this treasure for R5 000 in 2011. He was fined, and the bakkie has been permanently impounded. One down, how many thousands to go?
