Yesterday Apple made the announcement that the new version of their laptop and desktop software would be released “this summer.” As a total Apple slut, this excites me greatly. Despite the silly name, this is looking mint – a marriage between iOS and Mac OSX. Check out all the new features and sneak preview by clicking on “continue reading.”

Ignoring for the moment that another name for a mountain lion is a cougar, this new release from Apple seems to me to be exactly what OSX Lion was meant to be. If you thought iCloud was cool, this is a whole new ballgame – iMessage, Notifications, Notes and Twitter integration.

My favourite feature by far though, is the integration of Game Center – where you can now play games on your Mac against people on their iPad or iPhone. That’s pretty mental. Another feature I’m looking forward to will be the ability to assign cloud folders in Finder, which will be pretty awesome.
