Why spend just one Valentines Day locked together, when you can spend the equivalent of two?
A Thai couple have broken the Guinness World Record this Valentine’s Day for the longest lip lock yet recorded, smooching for a lockjaw-inducing 50 hours, 25 minutes and 1 second during the annual Ripley’s Believe It or Not longest kissing competition in the resort town of Pattaya, Thailand.
Thirty-one-year-old Nontawat Jaroegenasornsin and 28-year-old Thanakorn Sittiamthong were one of seven couples competing, and had to breathe, eat, drink and use the bathroom with their lips together to claim the record. Romantic, no?
For their troubles, the two men won US$6500 worth of diamond rings as well as luxury hotel vouchers, where no doubt brushing of teeth was first on the menu.
The previous Guinness World Record for the longest kiss was held by another Thai couple, Lakkana and Ekkachai Tiranarat, from Bangkok at 46 hours 24 minutes and 9 seconds.
