It’s always great to see epic acts of bad-assery, and this one is pretty bad-ass. A photo taken in 1936 has emerged showing a man standing amongst a dockyard full of people, all giving the Nazi salute. What makes it so cool? He’s just standing, arms crossed. Full size pic after the jump.
This man is August Landmasser, who was only identified in 1991 after members of his family spotted the photograph in a German newspaper. Look at him, just chilling there. Screw you Hitler, screw you Nazis. Not even a dockyard full of peer pressure can sway him. Let’s not forget that not supporting the Nazi party at that time led to all sorts of horrible things happening to you. The picture has now gone viral and is spreading all over the internet.
Landmesser was jailed for “disgracing the race” by marrying a Jewish woman, and having children by her. He was later released from prison and drafted into combat. He went missing and was presumed dead.
He still showed us what it means to have guts though.
