A brand new study has revealed there really is no such thing as the female G-spot. So that’s disappointing. But scientists have been trying unsuccessfully to find the mysterious sexual hot button for so long now that we were all getting bored anyway. (Right?)
“Without a doubt, a discreet anatomic entity called the G-spot does not exist,” said Dr. Amichai Kilchevsky. He’s a urology expert and the lead researcher in science’s most recent quest to find the orgasmic area in the vagina that many women claim to have.
The G-spot, named after that pesky Dr. Ernst Gräfenberg, who decided in the 1950’s to herald the discovery of a particularly sensitive one to two centimetre wide area on the vaginal wall. Much confusion and inadequacy among the male species ensued for the next 60 years, blah blah blah.
But ladies, if you think you do have a G-spot, you aren’t crazy either. According to Kilchevsky, what you’re likely experiencing is a continuation of the clitoris.
The new review was published this month in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
