White rap’s favourite son, Vanilla Ice, has dropped his bass for a ukulele and channeled his inner hipster. He’s moved to Echo Park, Los Angeles – an area notoriously populated by hipsters – to take up indie rock and the wearing of plaid shirts and thick-rimmed reading glasses. But has he?
The video is actually a spoof video from E! Entertainment’s: The Soup, to promote Ice’s DIY Network television show, The Vanilla Ice Project, in which the 90’s rapper tackles home improvement challenges.
The 44-year-old has been doing home improvements for 15 years, and the show is about to begin airing its second season in the US.
But like, indie rap-rock mashups are like, pretty cool anyway, and Ice pulls off his hipster vibe superbly.
