That apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
Back in the early 1990s, supermodel Cindy Crawford and her dusky beauty blemish were the darlings of the Versace empire, then headed by late patriarch and chief designer, Gianni Versace. From catwalks to covers to movies, to mega-stardom to black and white tasteful nudie posters on admirer’s walls, Cindy Crawford was the epitome of trans-Atlantic beauty and style.
Fast forward two decades, and two great dynasties of fashion have collided once more as Cindy Crawford’s 10-year old daughter, Kaia, steps into the spotlight for her very first modelling gig for the first Young Versace campaign under Donatella Versace.
Kaia is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, who have been together since 1998. Cindy left the catwalk over ten years ago, but occasionally reappears for charity events or special occasions. She has also launched a successful lifestyle brand. Now, she’ll be keeping a careful eye on the career of her stunning young progeny as she steps into the glittering world that made her mother a legend.

My Verdict: Firstly, yes, she does appear to be wearing socks and sandals, but come on, it’s Versace! … It’s Versace!!
Secondly, I’m unsure how her mother let her 10-year old daughter into the presence of Donatella Versace without at least a stylish silver crucifix around her little neck to protect her. Perhaps she has a neatly whittled sandalwood stake hidden beneath a lapel, in case the spray tan succubus gets too handsy. We can only hope.
