In what must be some of the creepiest news to emerge (this week) from what is admittedly a pretty weird place, a number of human body parts have been found scattered around the famous Hollywood Hills sign in Los Angeles. The LAPD says a severed human head was found in the area yesterday, and since then the discovery of “pairs of hands and feet” has also been reported.

Unsuspecting people walking their dogs first came across the plastic bag-wrapped head of a man in his forties with salt and pepper hair on Wednesday. Imagine their surprise.

Authorities alerted to the finding have been scaling the area on a grid system, but have yet to confirm whether any of the other body parts belonged to the same victim.

Whoever the man was, it seems he had been recently killed. Investigations will continue today.

As an aside, in case you were wondering, the letters on the Hollywood Hills sign are 14 metres high, and were erected in 1923.
