Material is a new South African film, produced by Ronnie Apteker and directed by Craig Freimond. The story follows a young Muslim man, played by Riaad Moosa, who finds himself torn between his family’s expectations, and a newly sparked passion for stand-up comedy.
The film also features Cape Town’s beloved comic and friend of the vibe, Nic Rabinowitz.Needless to say, it’s super encouraging and awesome to see South African comedy beginning to step into the limelight as a subject for wider pop culture enjoyment.
The premiere for the film is set to drop in Cape Town on 5 February, and we can’t wait!
