Victorinox, manufacturers of the iconic Swiss Army Knife, as well as a host of other sharp shiny things, have unveiled their latest range of all-in-one utility tools, which now include a solid state flash drive of up to 1 terabyte capacity! Sweet!

The new Knife Drives come in various sizes and prices, up to a wallet busting US$3 000 version (the 1Tb), and the whole unit is available in two models. A red casing includes a pen knife, scissors and nail file, while a black casing contains none of those, making it more likely to clear airport security.

Victorinox don’t produce their hardware by halves, and the same high quality Swiss design used in their utility tool range is apparently present in their new flash drive range. They claim the drives are waterproof and shock resistant, and even hacker proof.

Said a spokesperson at the launch of the Knife Drives in Las Vegas:

We’ve had them go through the washer, the drier; run them over with cars and they still work! It’s as high quality as it can be.

Perhaps so, although the ultimate test would be to put it in my PC at work, which devours flash drives of all makes and sizes for breakfast. Challenge issued, Victorinox!
