Mmmmh…. 500 episodes.
Ay carumba! Fox Television in the States are gearing up to screen the 500th episode of TV’s longest running scripted show, The Simpsons, after over 20 years on the air. To celebrate two decades with Springfield’s most famous family, they’re also preparing to break a Guinness World Record by challenging the show’s biggest fans to sit down and watch all 500 episodes of the show, back to back.
The Marathon showing of all 500 episodes of The Simpsons will take place in Los Angeles on February 8, and those brave enough to take on the challenge will need to smash the current Guinness World Record of 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds of couch-potatoing if they want to win the awesome prizes the show has stumped up, including a US$10 500 main prize, as well as loads of Simpsons merchandise, some of which has been created specially for the 500th episode.
If you feel like a trip to LA to watch over 175 hours of The Simpsons, then do report to the show’s Facebook page or website for more details. For the rest of us, the actual 500th episode will be screened in the States on February 19th, and worldwide probably not long after.
